1. About Book My Table
Book My Table is an online restaurant reservation platform that allows users to discover participating restaurants and make table reservations. Book My Table acts as an intermediary between diners and restaurants and does not own, operate, or manage the restaurants listed on the platform.
2. Eligibility
To use Book My Table, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account or making a reservation.
- Use the platform in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Book My Table reserves the right to refuse service, suspend accounts, or cancel reservations where misuse is suspected.
3. Account Registration
Some features of Book My Table may require you to create an account.
You agree to:
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Maintain accurate account information.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Restaurant Reservations
Book My Table provides a platform for making restaurant reservations. When making a reservation:
- You agree to provide accurate booking information.
- Reservations are subject to restaurant availability.
- Restaurants reserve the right to accept, modify, or decline reservation requests.
- Confirmation of a reservation does not guarantee specific seating arrangements unless confirmed by the restaurant.
The restaurant is solely responsible for providing the dining experience and services associated with your reservation.
5. Reservation Modifications and Cancellations
Users may modify or cancel reservations through the platform, subject to the restaurant’s cancellation and booking policies.
Certain restaurants may:
- Require advance notice for cancellations.
- Charge cancellation or no-show fees.
- Restrict modifications close to the reservation time.
Any applicable cancellation policies will be communicated during the booking process where applicable.
6. Late Arrivals and No-Shows
If you are running late, we recommend contacting the restaurant directly.
Restaurants may release reserved tables if:
- You fail to arrive within their designated holding period.
- You do not notify the restaurant of your delay.
Repeated no-shows may result in account restrictions or suspension.
7. Restaurant Information
Book My Table strives to keep restaurant information accurate and up to date. However, we do not guarantee:
- Availability of listed restaurants.
- Accuracy of menus, pricing, operating hours, promotions, or special offers.
- Availability of specific dishes, seating areas, or services.
Restaurants are responsible for maintaining accurate information about their establishments.
8. User Conduct
When using Book My Table, you agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information.
- Create fraudulent reservations.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the platform.
- Attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the platform.
- Engage in unlawful, abusive, or harmful conduct.
Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Book My Table, including but not limited to:
- Logos
- Branding
- Website design
- Text
- Graphics
- Software
- Images
is owned by and licensed to Book My Table and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without prior written permission.
10. Reviews and User Content
Book My Table allows users to submit reviews, ratings, comments, or other content, you agree that:
- Your content is accurate and lawful.
- Your content does not infringe on the rights of others.
- You grant Book My Table a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and use such content in connection with the platform.
Book My Table reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Book My Table shall not be liable for:
- Restaurant service quality.
- Food quality or safety.
- Reservation errors caused by restaurants.
- Restaurant closures or operational changes.
- Delays, interruptions, or technical issues affecting the platform.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.
Your dining agreement is directly between you and the restaurant.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Book My Table, its directors, employees, affiliates, and partners from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the platform.
- Your violation of these Terms and Conditions.
- Any misuse of your account.
13. Privacy
Your use of Book My Table is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
Book My Table may contain links to third-party websites, services, or restaurant pages. We do not control or endorse third-party content and are not responsible for their practices, policies, or services.
15. Service Availability
We aim to provide uninterrupted access to our platform, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available.
We reserve the right to:
- Modify features.
- Suspend services.
- Perform maintenance.
- Discontinue portions of the platform without prior notice.
16. Your Privacy Rights (POPIA)
At Book My Table, we are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). You have the right to request access to your personal information, correct or update inaccurate information, request the deletion of your personal information where applicable, object to certain processing activities, or withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of your rights under POPIA, please complete our POPIA Data Subject Request Form. Once we receive your request, we will verify your identity and process your request in accordance with the requirements and timeframes prescribed by POPIA. Please note that some requests may be subject to legal or regulatory obligations that require us to retain certain information.
17. Changes to These Terms
Book My Table may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from the use of Book My Table shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
19. Deposits, Final Bills and Additional Charges
Where a deposit or advance payment is required to make a booking, the deposit amount is applied in accordance with the restaurant’s stated booking and payment terms. In the event that the final bill or total amount due at the restaurant exceeds the deposit amount paid through BookMyTable, the restaurant is solely responsible for collecting any outstanding balance directly from the customer.
BookMyTable acts only as a booking and/or payment facilitation platform and is not responsible for settling, reimbursing, or otherwise paying any difference between the deposit paid and the final bill. BookMyTable shall not be liable for any additional amounts owed to the restaurant, nor shall BookMyTable be required to compensate or reimburse the customer for any shortfall, discrepancy, or additional charge arising from the final bill.
Any dispute relating to the final bill, additional charges, or amounts payable to the restaurant must be resolved directly between the customer and the restaurant. BookMyTable will not be responsible for any payment obligation arising between the customer and the restaurant beyond the amount processed through the BookMyTable platform.
